I went to the special class today and the teacher taught me how to teach children with special needs. The teacher told me about how these students are alienated and how they are taught to be independent.
The topic was weather. The goal was the students will be able use and understand terms related to time/ calendar. Also, she wanted to get studends use common recall.
In this class, the teacher used vocabulary, grammar and different activities to develop her class in a good and funny way. Also, she used the star fall website to reiterate to learning days of the week, month of the year and important holidays. after that she dedicated independent time to each student using personal notebook to answer questions.
All this will help me improve my teaching methodology and thereforeI will be able to apply it to my children with these needs in my classroom.
As I could see it is dedication and organization.
I'm glad that you had a chance to experience a SpEd classroom. I worked in one of those for a year very early in my career. It was challenging but very rewarding.

I wonder if you were able to make any connections between the students in this classroom and the students at Lifestyles. Were they similar? Different? How did it compare?
