FUNNY SECOND DAY AT HELLEN TYSON MIDDLE.
It was a good experience for me because, I could see all the teachers work together to make a Halloween Celebration for their students. First, they started giving a prize to the best halloween custom and also, the birthday children of the month. That motivates the students to want to participatein the different activities that school does. Iwas able to learn about their culture and how they manage the discipline and behavior of their students..Because, It was organized in a good way. and the studenst followed the instructions that the teachers gave them. For instance: when the teachers snap their fingers the students make the same and became silent and organized. I learned a new way to control class behavior.
After that reading class start at 12:10, the teacher motivated her student with a game questions and answers about halloween party at home. the interaction between the teacher and her student was funny.. The classroom management was attention grabber and clapp pattern or snap to keep the student in silent.
The teacher Joane used a new technique" read aloud ".and look for the best spot to read the bookthat the student selected in the last class.
I knew a strategy" movie in head" that mrs. Joane used with her students in order to increase student interest reading and wriring.It was different because she taught them to make a pictures in their head..
I learned new and interesting ideas how to use the computer in my school in order to make reading activities more fun for my students. For example: mrs. Joane wrote on board a site from google. then students look for the site and selected a book recomended for their teacher. After that, they could listen to books at their reading level.
I learned that is necessary to write the site from google where the students can find faster a reading.
Remember we are learning to be better reading.

ReplyDeleteI like what you mention about snapping fingers to get Ss' attention. It's true that there are so many great ways to do that. You also mentioned clapping; that's what I often do. Make sure you tell us about this next week in class!
Have you never done read alouds? Oh, Aixa! Read alouds are SO wonderful. They allow Ss to access stories that they can understand, but would not be able to read themselves. When Ss enjoy those stories, it motivates them to improve their own reading ability so that they can access the stories themselves. Reading aloud is wonderful!
